Clayton O. Wooten was a smart, hard working carpenter and field supervisor before he gathered up all his know-how in 1950 and moved with his young family to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Clay thought this would be a temporary move to supervise the building of one job at White Sands Missile Range, and he even had to ask, “Where is White Sands Missile Range?”
His was the classic self-made American success story. Starting from his garage, and relying on the help of his wife, Sarah Lee, and his son, Ray, he established Wooten Construction Company in 1964. His plain hard work, integrity, and commitment to quality, created a prized legacy. Today, the second and third generations of Wootens honor Clay’s standards by carrying on the valued tradition in which they have been raised. It is their honor to expand this vision into the 21st century.
As you explore this web site, you will discover the full range of the Wooten concept of excellence, which embodies Clay’s standards of construction at its best.
